Casual Relationships: Are They For Everyone?

There are many people who find themselves at a point in their lives where they have little to no desire for a serious, fully committed relationship. For them the easiest type of relationship with no strings attached is a casual relationship. This is easy for them, as they do not want the responsibility and extra work that comes with a serious relationship. It suits them as they are happy to just casually date and spend time with a variety of different people and don’t allow themselves to get attached to any one person.

Casual Relationships with no commitment:

With casual relationships it can work well for some people. The person is free to explore and have fun. For those that has commitment issues they do better with things being kept on a casual note. There is no real pressure on them. If you find other people that are looking for casual relationships, you will find that everyone is happy. They are all getting what they want. It becomes something like a win win situation for all.

Of course there are some negative aspects of a casual relationship. As some people may not agree with your decisions. They could frown upon the fact that you are dating different people at the one time rather than seeing one person exclusively. If you come across someone that you go on a date with and they are looking for more from the relationship, they could end up disappointed and possibly hurt. Also, you need to realize that the people that you are dating are also dating other people at the same time. So if someone has problems with jealousy a casual relationship can turn bad quickly.

casual relationshipsThe people that are involved in casual relationships do not have the bond and closeness with their partners, as this is not what they are after. They are spending time with different people and they do not get an opportunity to really get to know someone very well and this is of their own choosing. Often there is no love or deep emotional connection between the daters it is purely physical and it is sex that they crave for not love making as such.

However, if one partner starts to develop stronger feelings, this can create a bigger problem for everyone involved. They are essentially breaking the whole principle of casual dating. Also they are putting their partner that they want more from in an awkward position and could have the partner running in the opposite direction, especially if this partner is not ready for more, the relationship can and often does end in a negative way.

There are many instances when a casual relationship can work well. Especially if someone has gone through a divorce or has just come out of a bad relationship and is not ready to fully commit to another partner, they could enter into casual relationship with no strings attached. They are dating and just there to have a good time. They can simply be looking for someone to spend time with and to fill the emptiness and void and replace the hurt that has been left by an ex; the casual relationship will give them what they want. This way they are not lonely, but they are also not committing to someone else before they are ready either. It is recovery time for them that they feel that they must need, it also gives them time to work through some of their feelings and have some happiness at the same time.

It doesn’t really matter what the reason is, a casual relationship is an individual decision. Sometimes you have to think about it and decide if this is what you really want. If you are not ready for any serious commitments, then consider a casual relationship.

Casual relationships can work well and benefit you and others that are looking for the same thing and it may be time for you to have a little fun before deciding on whether to look to find a relationship that is a longer-term commitment.
